About

Jon Callahan here (Twitter: @JonBCallahan.). Publisher and writer of Skijunket.com. Avid skier. Actually, my whole family loves to ski. We live in North Vancouver and ski the local mountains (Mount Seymour) two to four times per week during the season. We also spend a week plus a few additional trips to Whistler Blackcomb, BC every year.  Come winter, we’re on the slopes.

Jon Callahan skiing Whistler

I grew up skiing Sasquatch (formerly Hemlock), Mount Baker in Washington state and Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. Other places I’ve skied include Crystal Mountain in Washington State, Big White in Kelowna and Cypress in North Vancouver.

Our boys are ski fanatics and as they get older, we plan to do some fun international ski trips.

Here are some ski photos:

Skiing Whistler Slopes

Advanced run at Whistler. It’s steeper than it looks. I take a lot of photos when skiing the bowls and blacks and the runs always look so much less steep in photos.

First Tracks Lodge, Creekside in Whistler

Our favorite place to stay at Whistler is the First Tracks Lodge in Creekside. We’ve stayed at the Fairmont, Four Seasons and Hilton… First Tracks is our fave.

Mount Seymour (North Vancouver, BC)

We live 15 minutes from Mount Seymour so we ski there all the time December through March.  This mountain offers night skiing which is ideal during the week. We head up for 1.5 to 3 hour ski sessions all the time.
